SG Biofuels, Inc. said it completed a $17 million Series B financing led by Thomas, McNerney & Partners and joined by Finistere Ventures and current investors Flint Hills Resources and Life Technologies Corporation. The San Diego company, which is developing hybrid seeds of Jatropha as a low-cost feedstock for biodiesel, bio jet fuel and specialty chemicals, said it will use the money to expand R&D and commercialization effort.

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Jan. 17, 2012 – SG Biofuels, Inc.
